Stará pošta (Old Post Office) guest house is located in the center of Frýdek-Místek, near the main square. The building itself has a relatively colorful history. In previous centuries, it served as a weaving mill and later as a post office.
In the years 1891-1893, the famous Silesian poet Petr Bezruč worked here at the post office. In the local area, he drew his inspiration for his most famous work, the Silesian Songs. To mark the 30th anniversary of their release, a memorial plaque was installed on the building, which adorns it to this day.
Reconstruction
In 2018, the building underwent a complete renovation. The guest house previously had only nine rooms. During the reconstruction, it was extended by another floor, and now it has twenty brand new rooms. All rooms have been renovated and completely refurbished. Guests are offered high quality accommodation including rich buffet breakfast.
A small conference room for your business meetings is also available.
